First Time in Program’s 25 Year History to Provide Offsets for EcoFriendly Mobility Decisions
Portland, Oregon, October 1st --- EcoChallenge.org, formerly known as the Northwest Earth Institute, has taken this year’s challenge to the next level. By partnering with Hytch, The People’s EcoChallenge 2019 will introduce participants to the Hytch Rewards platform where they can earn carbon offsets whenever they track their shared rides anywhere on the planet.
Hytch has steadily built a network of eco-friendly partnerships in the Pacific Northwest starting with the Low Carbon Prosperity Institute before being recognized by CleanTech Alliance and now EcoChallenge.org. Organizations select Hytch for the unique technology behind the Hytch Rewards platform that tracks, validates and rewards smarter mobility choices.
“We’re excited to partner with Hytch Rewards to offer our participants a way to earn carbon credits for sharing rides, making their transportation carbon neutral while they are also able to track their transit carbon footprint.” Said David Macek, Executive Director at EcoChallenge.org. “Hytch is like Strava for tracking the carbon impact of your transportation, which perfectly aligns with our mission to slow, stop, or reverse the harmful effects of the climate crisis.”
“I grew up in Oregon, so I legitimately hug trees.” Says Hytch Chairman and Co-Founder Mark Cleveland. “Partnering with passionate and mission driven organizations like EcoChallenge.org is the best way to connect people who care about the planet with the tools they need to educate themselves and make a difference.”
