GETTING STARTED

You’ve already downloaded the app. Hytch gives you a unique code, or you provide a company email, for example, and this employer or sponsor provided code makes you eligible for rewards not available to the general public. Hytch clients like hyper specific reward conditions available to active employees, but the system can be deployed without that association. Multiple promo codes can be applied. To distribute cash by PayPal you must exceed a $10 minimum threshold.

DEFINITION OF CONDITIONS:

We activated obvious mobility conditions you can experience today. Typically, conditions are further refined by using a highly specific geographic trip origin or destination. At this link find a detailed description of how reward conditions are defined, generating real time calculations of all public and private incentives.

CONDITION 1 - CARPOOL: AT LEAST ONE PARTICIPANT IS AN EMPLOYEE WITH PROMO CODE - Participants with the Promo Code earns 10¢/mile | the participant without a Promo Code earns 5¢/mile, up to 20 miles/ea.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

This demonstrates a program with rewards aimed at your employees and the friend or neighbor they share a ride with who is outside your organization. It is not necessary to reward the second participant, but this is illustrative of best practice.

CONDITION 2 - CARPOOL: EACH PARTICIPANT IS AN EMPLOYEE WITH A PROMO CODE - Each User earns 5¢/mile, up to 20 miles.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

This demonstrates a policy with rewards aimed EXCLUSIVELY at employees or program participants. In a typical Hytch deployment, these rules would be tied to a specific origination or destination.

CONDITION 3 - ADDITIONAL PASSENGER BONUS: Each participant earns 10¢/mile extra, up to 20 miles, if trip has 3 or more participants.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

When your goal is to encourage additional passengers in the vanpool or carpool, this condition motivates your employees and the commuters they share rides with to invest time to pick up and include one more passenger. It’s not necessary to reward the additional participants, but this is illustrating best practice.

CONDITION 4 - DRIVER BONUS: If trip has a participant with Promo Code, then Driver earns 5¢/mile, up to 10 miles.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

This is how sponsors give more money to the driver. It’s also leveraging the community at large with rewards aimed at getting your employees to work, by paying the participant (who could be anyone who is) driving and only during the shared ride trip segment. Employers use this condition to fairly and directly offset the cost of transportation. This strategy can accelerate an earned rebate to a participant most likely to be paying for parking. This reward STACKS upon (meaning it also applies to) all the previous conditions, and also demonstrates how maximum distances can be applied to different conditions.

CONDITION 5 - HOST BONUS: 2¢/mile bonus for the participant who remembers to send an invitation to start the shared trip, with a 20 mile maximum.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

The first habit your program seeks to reinforce is intentional and voluntary participation. This condition identifies and rewards the enthusiast everytime they help expand and grow your program.

CONDITION 6 - PEAK TIME COMMUTE BONUS: 1¢/mile bonus for any mode (except solo driving) where the trip is taken between 7am-9am PST, up to 20 miles.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

This is defined by the Sponsor. Some clients define many different peak commute (or shoulder commute) bonus times.

CONDITION 7 - DRIVING ALONE: 1/2¢/mile, up to 20 miles.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

Most people get to work by driving alone. Embrace that. Employers use Hytch Rewards to engage every employee in their sustainability initiatives. The strategy to reward driving alone is about forming helpful habits and driving participation in an active carbon offset program. Engaging all employees, particularly during COVID-19 helps you deliver your sustainability message every time an employee drives.
Note: Peak Time Commute Bonus does not apply to driving alone in this demonstration, serving as your example of applying an EXCLUSIONARY condition.

CONDITION 8 - SOLO BIKE RIDE: The rider earns 4¢/mile, up to 4 miles.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

Most people bike alone to work, so you can tie specific origination and destination rules to this mode, promoting active transportation, all in one platform.

CONDITION 9 - SHARED BIKE RIDE: Each participant has a Promo Code and riders earn 10¢/mile, up to 5 miles.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

This condition demonstrates the potential of a “bike buddy program” incentive. This pays 10¢/mile (instead of 3¢/mile per CONDITION 10) where the goal is to encourage employees to ride together. Rewarding active transportation is inexpensive and reinforces your bike-to-work culture.

CONDITION 10 - SHARED BIKE RIDE: At least one participant has a Promo Code in the group ride and each rider earns 3¢/mile, up to 10 miles.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

For testing your peloton-to-work with another cyclist, who does not have a Promo Code.

CONDITION 11 - SHELTER IN PLACE: Participants earn 50¢ per qualified event. By staying “Safe at Home” for the duration of the rule, at the address registered in the user profile, employers incentivize compliance with quarantine policy.

SEE STRATEGY NOTES

This demonstrates a feature of the platform with the goal of differentiating rewards per mile vs. rewards per event.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SEE AFTER TRIP

All conditions that apply to the trip are automatically calculated for each trip segment and each participant - uniquely. The “Trip Summary” is presented immediately for real time feedback that helps gamify the experience, as we motivate and inform participants.

EXAMPLE TRIP

Three participants share a one way trip to work that is not during peak commute time. The driver is not an employee, but both passengers are. The total shared trip distance for two participants is 12 miles. In this carpool, Passenger #1 is the trip “Host” who sent the invitation to the driver, as well as to Passenger #2 who was picked up two miles closer to the group’s destination, so that the trip segment with three people in a carpool is a 10 mile distance.

WHO GETS PAID WHAT ON ABOVE TRIP?

Participant ONE: is the “Driver” and not an “employee”

Total Reward for Driver: $1.46

SHOW CALCULATIONS:

$0.06 (1/2¢/mile x 12 miles) meets condition one for entire trip
$1.00 (10¢/mile x 10 miles) meets condition three, under the cap
$0.40 (4¢/mile x 10 miles) meets condition four, up to the cap.

Participant TWO: is “Passenger #1” and an “employee” as well as “Host”

Total Reward for Passenger #1: $1.26

SHOW CALCULATIONS:

$0.24 (2¢/mile x 12 miles) meets condition five for Host Bonus
$0.12 (1¢/mile x 12 miles) meets condition one for entire trip
$0.50 (5¢/mile x 10 miles) meets condition two for this trip segment
$0.40 (10¢/mile x 10 miles) meets condition three for this trip segment.

Participant THREE: is “Passenger #2” and is also an “employee”

Total Reward for Passenger #2: $1.00

SHOW CALCULATIONS:

$0.10 (1¢/mile x 10 miles) meets condition one for this trip segment
$0.50 (5¢/mile x 10 miles) meets condition two for this trip segment
$0.40 (10¢/mile x 10 miles) meets condition three for this trip segment.
