Dick Pedersen spent his entire career as a public servant and served as Director of Oregon's Department of Environmental Quality for 8 years before retiring. During his tenure as Director he focused his time on reducing carbon emissions and protecting the environment by working to ensure Oregon operated under the California Low Emission Vehicle Standard and several other accomplishments.

Pedersen also served as President of Environmental Council of States to develop a collaborative model for state engagement with each other and the Environmental Protection Agency. He sees Hytch as one of the most exciting opportunities for reducing greenhouse gas emissions that fully engages everyone from governments to businesses to individuals.

Now that he is retired, Pedersen enjoys serving on boards that promote environmental good. He likes to stay healthy and active with his wife and is always up for a spontaneous road trip with his wife.
